After a mid-season lull the Riders, led by the sterling play of QB Darian Durant (pictured), are riding a three-game winning streak heading into this game against the Toronto Argonauts (Mosaic Stadium, 3 p.m.). The victories were impressive too, beginning with the OT thriller against Calgary on Sept. 17, and continuing with solid road wins over Hamilton and Toronto.

Following the Riders’ blowout loss in Winnipeg on Sept. 12, it looked like the Stamps had first place pretty much sewn up. But now the Riders are just one game back. Assuming they take care of business against the Boatmen, whom they defeated handily last week in Toronto 27-16, they could well be tied heading into next Sunday’s match-up against the Stamps at Mosaic.

That’s because Calgary’s in Montreal on Thanksgiving Monday. The Als aren’t as good as they were last year. The Stamps pounded them in Calgary last week. But at home they’re still extremely tough. Even if the Stamps win, it will surely be a physical affair.  And then they travel to Regina to play the Riders. A victory by the Riders would give them the tie-break advantage should the teams finished tied in the standings.
