Starting in the mid-70’s and running through the 1980’s, there was a Saturday morning cartoon that pretended to be entertainment but it was actually educational show.
It was the Canadian / Australian made The Toothbrush Family. The Toothbrush Family consisted of mother Tess, father Tom, the kids – Tina and Toby, Gramps, Flash Fluoride, the toothpaste, Hot Rod Harry, an electric toothbrush, Shaggy Dog, Cecily Comb, Bertie Brush, Nev Nailbrush and Susie Sponge.
They were supposed to be teaching kids to brush their teeth but they seemed to spend most of their time goofing around – avoiding the real issues, what happens when the family wears out from extended use?
