Curated by Regina artist JG Hampton, this show features work by Crystal Mowry, Barbara Meneley, Jeremy Drummond, Jocelyn Philibert and Robert Hengeveld.
It opens tonight at 7 p.m. at Neutral Ground (1822 Scarth) with a panel discussion in which Hampton and the artists will elaborate on the central thesis of the show which is tied to humanity’s ever-changing relationship with the natural world. Through activites like lawn care, environmental activism and resource exploitation, the gallery press release notes, we are continually modifying nature and revising our concept of what is authentic.
The show runs until Oct. 30 . Once I’ve had a chance to see the work, like the indoor lawn being cultivated in the above photo by Hengeveld, I’ll do a follow-up post.
Also tonight, local rockers Tinsel Trees are playing at O’Hanlon’s Pub.
