Probably not too many, if any, fans of the “Bieb” read this blog. If any did, they’d probably wonder who the long-haired dude was who’d absconded with Dan Kanter’s guitar. Kanter is Justin Bieber’s guitarist. And he apparently plays the same type of “bull’s eye” guitar as Zakk Wylde — who’s the long-haired dude pictured to your left.
Wylde’s been in the metal biz for over 20-years. He first made his mark as Ozzy Osborne’s lead shredmeister. While he and the Oz have parted ways, the break-up was apparently unacrimonious, and now Wylde is free to focus on his long-standing side project Black Label Society.
Touring in support of their 8th studio album Order of the Black Black Label Society are performing tonight with fellow metalheads Children of Bodum, Clutch and 2 Cents at the Agribition Building (Evraz Place). Doors are at 6 p.m., it’s an all-ages gig, and tix are $42.50.
To get your neck muscles loosened up, here’s video of BLS doing “Suicide Messiah”.
Also on tonight, Regina singer-songwriter Kerri Senkow has a CD release at Salon Fli Hair Salon (2100 Dewdney Ave.) at 7 p.m. Also, local performance poet Patrick Swan is at the Club with Spencer Butt. Swan, you might remember, was the My Music subject in our Sept. 9 issue. Rumour also has it that after being invited up to Ness Creek to perform in July, Swan was abruptly asked to leave after his initial performance because some of his material was deemed to be non-family friendly. Shocking, I know. So be forewarned.
