Thursday night, Winnepeg alt-country rockers the F-holes took the stage, and the city, by storm. Fueled by hot stepping rythms, a driving big bad-ass double bass, guitars, banjo, pedal steel guitar and 30’s prohibition-era America style trumpet the show was unique for Regina.
Besides a touch of “too many years in high school jazz band” feel on some songs, their sound was great and the crowd couln’t help, but move to the music.
This band had style, not the usual ultra-indie, mega-trendy style, but a tradtionally forged sound and feel that kept the audience into it.
Next time you hear about F-holes nearby I highly recommend you check them out……the band that is.
