Unlike Queer City Cinema, I’ve never actually attended the Sasktel Summer Invasion so I don’t know how high on the testosterone scale it measures. Certainly, most of the sports do incorporate a significant element of macho bravado. But overall, I don’t think it comes anywhere near Monster Truck territory. Monster trucks being perhaps the most innane spectacle ever devised by our species.
Apart from the Xtreme sports angle, Sasktel Summer Invasion also features live music. This year, bands include Theory of a Deadman, Marianas Trench, Stereos, Jordan Cook, Swollen Members and a special mystery guest.
