Not my scene I must admit, but this annual orgy of booze, country music, more booze, sun-burns, two-stepping, sex, puking and other types of debauchery which kicks off tomorrow definitely registers high on the popularity meter for a lot of people in Saskatchewan.

This year jamboree headliners include Kenny Chesney, Miranda Lambert (pictured), Martina McBride, Charley Pride and Kevin Costner.

That’s pretty much all I got on this. If you want more, the Leader-Post typically has coverage of Craven up the wazoo. So you’d best check with it.

At the Exchange tonight, meanwhile, there’s a triple CD release with former Library Voices’ guitarist Brett Dolter having a hand in all three albums. First, there’s a release for a live CD called Seeds featuring him and Royal Sask Museum staffer Glenn Sutter. Proceeds from that disc go to support the North Central Community Garden.

After that, the Lazy MKs will play a set of pedal steel post-rock. Then Brett will join them to launch an EP of roots music called Sunrise. Finally, Brett will launch an album called Rock Hard with his self-described hillybilly band/curling team The Rusty Howards.

Doors are at 7 p.m., with Brett and Glenn taking the stage at 8 p.m.
