Billed under the title Queen City Carnage, this event features a rematch of a sold-out women’s roller derby contest that was held last month between the Lockdown Lolitas and the Bone City Beaver Dames. Slowly but surely, women’s roller derby seems to be catching on in the city. The bout is being held at the Callie Curling Club. Doors are at 6 p.m. and tix are $10 adv., $15 door.
I couldn’t dig up any footage for the two teams in action, so to get the juices flowing here’s the trailer for the “classic” 1972 flick Kansas City Bomber starring Raquel Welch (and an 11 year-old Jodie Foster).
Also on tonight is the second part of the fundraiser for the Exchange/Club with local metal bands providing the entertainment beginning at 7 p.m. Tix are $20. And at the Distrikt, there’s a blast from the past with The Odds playing. Backing them up are Regina punk pioneers The Extroverts. Tix are $15 adv., $20 door.
