Kind of a quiet day on the entertainment front in Regina. It is Sunday, and Father’s Day to boot. The World Cup continues on TV with Slovakia vs. Paraguay at 5:30 a.m., Italy vs. New Zealand at 8 a.m. and Brazil vs. Ivory Coast at 12:30 p.m. The final round of the U.S. Open from Pebble Beach is also on today. And the Riders complete their pre-season with a game against the Stampeders in Calgary that will be on the radio with kick-off set for 1 p.m.

Closer to home, the Regina Red Sox, who are off to a great start with a 8-1 record will host the Melville Millionaires at Currie Field at 2 p.m. Musicwise, there’s a jazz brunch to wind up the Regina JazzFest today at the Regina Inn. Here’s a link to a previous post I did. Tonight at 8 p.m. at Casino Regina the Artie Shaw Orchestra is playing. And at the Exchange, the South Dakota-based pop-punk band The  Spill Canvas (pictured) is playing with Paper Lions backing them up. Doors are at 7 p.m. Tix for the all-ages gig are $17 adv.  To close, here’s video of the Spill Canvas performing “Saved”off their 2008 release No Really, I’m Fine.
