Wanted to remind everyone about the housing rally at the legislature today at noon.
A group will be gathering to protest the sad state of housing in this province and the lack of any concerted action from government to solve the problem.
Many of you reading this are like me and have a place to live. But if you think housing is not a problem these days, remember that our vacancy rate is still 0.6 per cent — the lowest in the country — and has been at this essentially-zero point for well over a year now. Meanwhile, rental rates in this province are skyrocketing thanks to our lack of a strict rent-control regime.
Today’s rally (at noon) (at the legislature) is part of the Red Tent campaign, a national campaign to end homlessness.
