Canadiana Concert Series

I don’t know how extensive this series will be, but with the academic year just underway at the University of Regina, the campus bar The Owl is promoting a Canadiana Concert Series that will showcase some top Canadian bands/musicians.

The first installment goes Thursday Sept. 24 with doors at 7 p.m. The headliner is Saskatoon rock band Close Talker, with the Winnipeg rock quintet Yes We Mystic also featured on the bill. Admission is $5.

Other concerts in the series that have been confirmed include: Grey Land with Language Arts (Oct. 8); Shred Kelly with Bears In Hazenmore (Nov. 5); and The Elwins with guests (Nov. 19).

For more information visit the Owl’s website. And to give you a sense of what to expect on Thursday, here’s the video for “Burnstick” off Close Talker’s 2014 debut full-length Flux
